The Nexus landscape is a design for the modern contemporary urban dweller where the random play of parallel lines are used as a unifying theme in this project.
The axis created by architectural blocks and reinforced by the parallel lines starting from the entry drop off continues in this manner, passing the swimming pool’s infinity edge to terminate in ephemeral water lines coming from the trellis above, shooting into the kid’s pool for play. The only indication of the clubhouse from the 1st storey is the circular void with arms of water on glass holding an embrace. This is the external clubhouse plaza where water from the swimming pool flows down the wall as a waterfeature wall for the Clubhouse. Together with the waterfeature bubble tanks forming an embracing partial circle surrounding the hot spa and jacuzzi area, this is a cozy enclave with dappled shade from trees, where clubhouse activities are encouraged to spill out beneath the floating trellis above.
As a contrast to the busy central landscape area, two recreational paths break away from the axis, meandering amongst trees and verdent green lawns behind the blocks completing a circuit for a jog, a run or just a stroll to take the air. On one side of the property the recreational path leads one to various activity areas such as BBQ facilities and fitness stations.
The overall design allows room for both active play as well as intimate areas of rest and nurture.
