The overall landscape design for Anglo-Chinese School Independent IB extension was designed with two foci – one, the central Parade Square at Level 3 and two, the Student Plaza at Level 1. The twin “hearts” of the project are represented as the points of origin of the “Golden Spiral” which is generated based on a relationship of geometrical and mathematical proportions originating from the Golden Section.

The premise of the Golden Section can be defined geometrically as a line that is divided such that the lesser portion is to the greater as the greater is to the whole. It is expressed algebraically by the equation of two ratios:- a/b = b/a+b. Even as the shape transforms, each part remains similar to all of the other parts, as well as to the whole. It is a timeless system of organizing proportions with its basis in nature, natural forms as well as architecture from times of antiquity.
