Temasek Tower A&A« Back to Projects Listing | Print
The creation of a modern public urban space of color, texture, sound and shade with minimal aesthetics and high visibility from the road. The juxtaposition of geometric forms take inspiration from the existing circular tower as the centre for the genesis of the design layout with lines and arcs radiating out from this distinctive core.

Landscape Hardscape elements are organized as radiating rays and arcs in different colors together with Landscape Softscape elements, whereas Waterfeature elements are bounded by a series of arcs in the centre of the composition.

Integration and placement of public art and sculpture which the space was conceptualized as a set piece within the waterfeature stage area. As "brother and sister with shoes and teddy", playing in the water, the sculpture epitomizes laughter and fun.

Accessibility was of high consideration as attracting the passers-by into the project was a major requirement to be metThis was provided via a series of steps integrated with the arcs of the waterfeature design that would radiate out to the full extents of the plaza frontage and provide multiple access of choice for either a quick walk or a slow stroll down. Ramps were also provided on both sides, with one specifically for the handicapped. As part of the radial lines from the building, the "ficus ribbon" hedges also double as "living balustrades" down the steps.
