To create unique retail ambience for Setiawalk , Sitetectonix designed a landscape with a continuous body of water as the focal point. The character of the water changes and evolves to suit the various activities and programs that are a part of the Setia walk experience. Depending on the type of activity and program, the character of the water can be either a shallow reflecting pool, a cascading waterfall, a series of dancing water jets, fog/mist jets, or sculptural water columns.
Further enhancing the dynamic nature of the water, the edges, which contain the water, also vary in form and character. Along one side of the development the edge of the water is very urban in character with strong straight lines, punctuated by a semi-circular form that contains the entertainment hub. The opposite edge of the water body is more organic and fractured creating a dynamic juxtaposition and contrast.
The water body which runs through the centre of the development, is flanked by plaza spaces and garden spaces along its edges. These flexible open spaces provide for a variety of activities ranging from dinning, to shopping, display / exhibition spaces, children’s play areas, and other commercial and recreational activities. Pathways extend from the buildings into the landscape, to create an integrated pattern of pedestrian circulation. This network of paths, seamlessly unites the architecture and the landscape physically.
